Description

Have you admired the work of expert quilters but don’t know where to begin when quilting your own projects? This class demystifies the process. We’ll learn to free-motion quilt a variety of patterns with variations and then create complex designs just by breaking up the design space and filling it in. We always have so much fun and generate lots of ideas! Go home invigorated and ready to finish those quilt tops!

 

Materials List

Students should bring :

• Gloves or anything you like to use for machine quilting
• Marking tool of choice
• Cutting ruler that is at least 12” in one direction
• 50 wt. thread for quilting
• Machines equipped with walking feet, stitch regulators or free motion feet, and quilting or topstitch needles (I like size 80 but 90 will work too)
• Pen
• 4-5 fat quarter quilt sandwiches
• Brass safety pins (optional)

 

In addition, students should bring the following items, if they own them :

• Quilting Gloves
• Supreme Slider or Free-Motion Glider
• Sew Steady tables are helpful if they have them
