We are combining 2 different types of quilt entries in Category 4.

One is Beginners, and the other is Young Quilters. Rules for each is below

BEGINNERS

• Pattern, design, and quilt construction can be of any style- the participant’s quilt can be a traditional, modern, contemporary or art quilt.
• Quilter must be quilting From February 2022 onwards. If you have been quilting earlier than February 2022, we welcome you to enter your quilt in Categories 1-3.
• Quilting may be done in any kind of machine- domestic sewing machine, sit down long arm machines and standup movable long arm machines
• Quilts can be quilted by long arm quilting businesses/friends. These details will be asked for in the quilt entry form.
• Size Restriction of quilts- Should not exceed 2.5 meters in Height.

Please note, if you are confused on which category to register your quilt in, the Quilt Show committee will guide you. If you enter your quilt in a wrong category, we will reallocate to the appropriate category as per the Quilt Category Guidelines.

 

YOUNG QUILTERS

• Quilters who are 18 years of age and under may enter a quilt of any style in Category 4 of the 8th International Quilt Show Dubai. There is no minimum age for entry.
• Quilts need to have 3 layers, and stitching through all layers should be evident. Quilts must be properly finished.
• Young Quilters may take assistance in Quilting of their quilts, but this needs to be indicated in the Quilt Entry Form.
• The patchwork/top sheet needs to be fully done by the Young Quilter.
• Quilting may be done in any kind of machine- domestic sewing machine, sit down long arm machines and standup movable long arm machines
• Quilts can be quilted by long arm quilting businesses/friends. These details will be asked for in the quilt entry form.
• Size Restriction of quilts- Should not exceed 2.5 meters in Height.
